About the Opportunity

This is an open position with the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

The Asset Management Specialist supports regulatory compliance and engineering operations by developing, maintaining, and analyzing reports. The role ensures accurate tracking of inspection results, regulatory commitments, and department performance metrics.

The Asset Management Specialist works with data from multiple systems to produce reports, support audits, and provide insights that improve decision-making and operational effectiveness.  This individual not only reports data, but challenges it, improves it, and uses it to drive better decisions.
 
This position can be located at any FirstEnergy service center in multiple Ohio locations.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple sources
  • Developing and maintaining recurring and ad hoc reports
  • Creating charts, pivot tables, and various presentations to communicate results
  • Monitoring backlog, productivity, and performance metrics
  • Maintaining and improving reporting processes and documentation
  • Identifying data issues and recommending process improvements
  • Using query tools to develop and execute reports
  • Supporting business decision-making through analysis and modeling
  • Communicating findings clearly to leadership and stakeholders
  • Conducting research and supporting strategic initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual work
  • Preparing documentation and coordinating activities for Public Utilities Commission (PUC) desk audits
  • Providing storm support, as required, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays
     

Qualifications

  • Two-to-four-year degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline and minimum 7 to 10 years’ related work experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum 10 to 13 years’ related work experience is required.  Related work experience includes planning/analysis, performance reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Experience with Power BI, VBA, or Excel automation is preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, TOAD, QlikView or similar); Advanced SQL skills (complex queries, troubleshooting, optimization) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with awareness to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, lookups, formulas) a plus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems into a single view
  • Able to perform root cause analysis and identify underlying issues
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively and lead analysis efforts
