Position Summary

Skywalker Sound is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to join our world-class production team. This role is essential for ensuring that our recording sessions run seamlessly, providing critical technical and operational support across the studio floor.

The Assistant Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end setup and breakdown of recording spaces, maintaining an impeccable studio environment, and supporting engineers, producers, and talent. You will manage the movement of equipment and materials while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency during live sessions to deliver an exceptional client experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of the recording space before and after sessions.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and quiet studio environment.

  • Support engineer, producers, and talent with basic session needs.

  • Coordinate movement of equipment, props, and materials as directed.

  • Greet and assist clients, guests, and session participants when needed.

  • Monitor the studio floor to ensure sessions run smoothly and efficiently. 

  • Follow studio safety procedures and maintain professionalism during all sessions.

  • Communicate effectively with staff and respond promptly to requests during live recording.

What We’re Looking For

  • College degree, or equivalent, and 3+ years relevant experience preferably assisting with live recording sessions or event production 

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with all levels of executive, management and staff.

  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.  

  • Proven ability to successfully handle a high level of client interaction.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with a high level of detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and follow through skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with others and build relationships. 

  • Ability to work well and prioritize in a fast paced multi-project environment and maintain professionalism while supporting on-floor production activities.

  • Must work well under pressure.
