Job Summary:
The Road Maintenance Department is seeking an experienced, people-focused leader to serve as Assistant Manager of Base Experience. This role is responsible for developing frontline leaders, supporting operational readiness, and ensuring administrative, staffing, and compliance functions are executed at a high level. The Assistant Manager acts as a key resource for the Road Maintenance and Parking teams, balancing people leadership, cross-department coordination, and administrative ownership to deliver safe, reliable, and guest-focused arrival and departure experience

Starting Wage: $28.50 - $35.00

Job Responsibilities:
Department Leader:
- Owns day-to-day departmental leadership in partnership with the Base Experience Manager; supports staffing strategy, coverage planning, and continuity of operations across all shifts; sets clear expectations and reinforces accountability at all leadership levels.
People Leader
- Directly manages the Road Maintenance and Parking teams; drives coaching, feedback, and performance management; supports leadership development and succession planning; ensures consistent application of standards, policies, and corrective action.
Operational Oversight
- Provides high-level operational oversight; serves as escalation point for operational disruptions, designing training program, and staffing challenges; ensures alignment with safety standards and company values.
Administrator
- Owns schedule making, timekeeping oversight, reporting, compliance documentation, and departmental trackers; ensures accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness; informs budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting needs.
Resource Mindset:
- Acts as a problem-solving resource for frontline leaders; removes barriers to execution by aligning staffing, equipment, training, and information; prioritizes work based on operational impact and risk.
Stakeholder Management
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal partners including Vehicle Maintenance, Mountain Dispatch, Parking, Ski & Ride School, Conference Sales, and Base Area Operations; ensures operations and timelines align with broader resort needs.
Compliance & Safety Leadership
- Ensure company safety program compliance; supports audits, investigations, and corrective actions; reinforces a proactive safety culture across the department.

Resort Mindset
- Actively supports resort specific goals and objectives. Utilizes strong relationship building and operational ownership to support other departments.

Job Requirements:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Valid CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement held for at least 2 years, or minimum 2 years of applicable team supervisory experience.
- Ability to pass post-offer background check, pre-employment, and random drug testing.
- Experience leading teams or managing operations in any setting; capable of coaching, performance management, and building strong team culture.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; able to lead shift briefings and maintain positive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to create schedules, report, and track data.
- Experienced Operational Leader: experienced in dispatching team members, operational decision-making, and managing service standards under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-department relationships and support broader resort goals.
- Proven commitment to safety, guest service, and alignment with company values.
The expected pay range is $28.50 - $35.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
