ASSISTANT PRODUCT MANAGER
HYBRID | ONSITE AT JOSTENS’ MINNEAPOLIS HEADQUARTERS 3 DAYS/WEEK

 
ABOUT YOU:
You are curious, analytical, and excited about bringing products to life. As an Assistant Product Manager, you will support the development and execution of product and marketing strategies for a specific Jostens product category. Working closely with a Sr. Product Manager, you’ll analyze sales data, monitor market trends, contribute to new product development, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management. This role offers exposure across sales, sourcing, marketing, finance, IT, and manufacturing—giving you a strong foundation for long-term growth in product management.
 
YOU WILL:
 
  • Run and analyze sales reporting. Generate reports on new product initiatives and provide leadership with insights on performance trends.
  • Evaluate product performance. Assist in reviewing product line effectiveness, profitability, and overall impact on the business.
  • Monitor product portfolios. Support assigned product categories and contribute recommendations to overall product strategy.
  • Support product development execution. Partner with sourcing to manage product specifications and review product submissions.
  • Lead select project initiatives. Provide project management support for product development and marketing initiatives across channels.
  • Support the sales organization. Assist with product-related inquiries, policies, and issue resolution to ensure timely responses.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Participate in meetings with marketing, sales, finance, operations, IT, and creative teams to support business growth strategies.
  • Typical/expected % of overnight travel: Up to 5%
 
YOU HAVE:
 
  • Education. BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Product Development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Product Development Experience. 1–2 years of experience in product line development, management, or execution.
  • Launch Experience. Exposure to new product, category, or business development from concept through launch.
  • Product Lifecycle Knowledge. Understanding of product life cycles and the marketing mix (4P’s).
  • Integrated Marketing Understanding. Familiarity with online and offline marketing strategies, including catalog, retail, and digital channels.
  • Technical Proficiency. Working knowledge of MS Access and PowerPoint. Preferred Desktop publishing experience.
  • Analytical & Project Management Skills. Strong ability to manage timelines, analyze data, and drive initiatives forward.
  • Collaboration & Communication Skills. Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation abilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Resourcefulness. Ability to leverage internal resources effectively to meet business objectives.

Our Marketing team leverages digital marketing strategies and tactics focused on schools, independent sales reps, parents, and students to deliver the right message, to the right customer, at the right time. Team members will understand and leverage customer insights through data analysis & testing to then create experiences and relevant content throughout the customer journey and to support our specialized products lines including Yearbooks, Class Rings, Graduation Products, and Professional Sports. Through executing across a variety of consumer touchpoints on jostens.com, social, e-mail and print materials, the team collaborates with internal partners to create relevant and timely marketing campaigns to meet the needs of our customers.
