Job overview and responsibilities


The Assistant Product Manager will support all aspects of the product development lifecycle. This includes product discovery, development, enhancement, and delivery of applications and new solutions. You will work closely with Product Managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to facilitate all aspects of a product's lifecycle. This includes the creation of Lean Canvas boards, refinement of key backlog components, such as defining product epics and tracking development progress, and ensuring successful execution from concept to delivery. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, clear communication skills, and a desire to collaborate across teams.

 

  • Product Requirements:
    • Assisting in the creation of detailed requirements in the form of user stories, supporting the Agile development and testing teams from start to finish
  • Product Development Support:
    • Supports the management of a story backlog to ensure readiness of user stories for the upcoming sprint and creates acceptance criteria that are clear, concise, and actionable 
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborates with Product Managers to ensure that business requirements are effectively translated into accurate and actionable user stories
    • Works closely with User Experience (UX) analysts to ensure prototypes effectively convey the intended story
    • Works with Dev and QA to understand the boundaries of any given story
  • Monitoring and Improvements:
    • Monitor product performance, user feedback, and feature adoption to identify areas for improvement and optimization
    • Identify and resolve product and process issues

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems Integration or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in a business analyst, project coordinator, or product-related role
  • 3+ years of related experience or successful completion of United DT Early Career Digital Leadership Program (ECDLP)
  • Basic understanding of Agile & Scrum Knowledge
  • Business/System requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project organization skills, including prioritization, planning, and organization
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and engage effectively with multiple team members and interactions
  • Strong problem-solving, listening, written and verbal communication and decision-making skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Certifications are a plus
  • Prior Experience in the Airline industry
  • Experience in software development or technology-related fields
  • Exposure to application lifecycle management or digital transformation projects
  • Basic understanding of APIs or integration concepts
