About this role
The College of Nursing Department of Community and Population Health at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a full-time (12-month) tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor. This position will be responsible for teaching within the Family Nurse Practitioner Concentration of the DNP program. The UT Health Science Center embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care, and institutional service. Academic rank is commensurate with academic experience.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership in community and population health and contribute to a full range of faculty activities: teaching, research/scholarly activity, and service. Secure external funding in support of programs and research, teach in PhD, DNP, and/or BSN programs, advise doctoral students, and mentor students in research.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Doctoral Degree from an accredited university program.
EXPERIENCE: Evidence of professional excellence in a full range of faculty activities including teaching, research/scholarly activity, and service, as well as practice where appropriate.
LICENSES: Unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee is required. Evidence of scholarship, including publications, presentations, and grant funding, is required. Active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES:
- Documented high-quality didactic teaching experience in a graduate program is desired.
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold a related board certification/licensure where applicable. (i.e., RN, PRN).
- Preferences will be given to candidates whose education, experience, and scholarship interest includes community and population health.
- Must be willing to locate to the Memphis, TN area.
