Position Title: Assistant Professor, Tenured Track, Accounting
Position Location: Wingate Main Campus
The Porter B. Byrum School of Business invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Accounting position at Wingate University. This opening is a full-time, 9-month faculty position reporting directly to the Dean of the Porter B. Byrum School of Business. The timeline to begin is August 2026
Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the duties listed below, faculty members must adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by Wingate University and perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Porter B. Byrum School of Business and the Provost.
Teaching undergraduate accounting courses including, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting in person.
Teaching graduate accounting courses including, Advanced Auditing, Advanced Accounting I and II, both face-to-face and online synchronous.
Engaging in service to the School of Business, University, profession and the community.
Presenting and publishing research, with either accounting or pedagogical topics.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or DBA in accounting, Masters in accounting, and or 18 graduate credit of hours in accounting from an accredited university, preferably AACSB accredited. Professional experience is desirable. CPA preferred.
Candidates must have the ability to effectively teach courses in an undergraduate business program and a graduate Masters of Accounting program.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent teaching, strong communication skills, and provide evidence of being a subject matter expert. Relevant experience in business and/or consulting, with a commitment to collaborative endeavors is preferred.
Candidates should have the intent to conduct research leading to scholarly publication while engaging in service to the School of Business, University, profession and the community.
If a candidate who is ABD will be hired as an instructor, and will be expected to finish DBA or Ph.D. within three years of being hired.
