We are seeking an Assistant Software Developer to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications for external client delivery. This role is ideal for an early‑career professional who is eager to build a strong foundation in software development while working in a collaborative, consulting‑focused environment. The Assistant Software Developer will work closely with developers, analysts, and designers to create reliable, scalable solutions that address real‑world client needs.
 

What You’ll Do
•    Collaborate with developers, analysts, and designers to build software programs and applications for external clients.
•    Assist across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
•    Support the design and development of software solutions that improve operational efficiency and address client requirements.
•    Write, translate, and maintain code and scripts in accordance with technical specifications and best practices.
•    Perform software updates, enhancements, and testing to ensure quality, reliability, and performance.
•    Analyze user needs and assist with developing effective software solutions.
•    Conduct research on emerging development tools, technologies, and methodologies to support ongoing development efforts.
•    Work with developers across business lines to contribute to technical recommendations and solution design decisions.
•    Document work, provide status updates as needed, and support troubleshooting and issue resolution.
•    Ensure compliance with company standards, quality processes, and safety policies.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Preferred Experience & Skills
•    Foundational knowledge of software development concepts, tools, and operating environments.
•    Experience or coursework related to designing, coding, testing, or maintaining software applications.
•    Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
•    Ability to work methodically in a quantitative and technical problem‑solving environment.
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
•    Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•    Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and pursue applicable technical certifications.
•    Interest in consulting‑based work supporting clients in energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments.
 


  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited program Required or
  • Associate Degree and 2 years related professional experience Required or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 4 years related professional experience Required
  • Technical knowledge in computer equipment, storage, back-ups, operating systems and tools used in an operating environment required.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Effective in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PPT).
  • Ability to optain applicable certifications.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
