Assistant Store Manager (537074)

Primary Purpose

• Support overall store operations to achieve sales, financial, and operational goals.
• Build strong associate and customer relationships. 
• Promote Food Lion's Strategy, culture, and core values.
• Maintain the highest standards for safety, security, and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, train, coach, and develop associates. 
• Manage performance through feedback, appraisals, and corrective action.
• Lead the store as Manager on Duty when needed.
• Assist with day-to-day store operations
• Ensure excellent customer service and strong store conditions.
• Control company assets, cash and inventory.
• Reduce shrink and maximize sales. 
• Oversee scheduling, labor, productivity, and ordering systems. 
• Ensure compliance with company policies and all local, state and federal regulations
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous department management or equivalent leadership experience. 
• Strong leadershop, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of total store operations and merchandising.
• Ability to earn and maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification if required.
