Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. WE LOVE OUR WORK.

  • Provide assistance to the State Veterinarian
  • Responsible for taking urine samples from horses designated by the stewards or commission
  • Responsible for accurately maintaining records
  • Responsible for keeping Test Barn and shed row clean and orderly between races
  • Other duties as assigned by State Veterinarian

  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Must be approved by the Ohio State Racing Commission
  • Must be licensed the Ohio State Racing Commission
  • Must have thorough knowledge of horses and have horse handling experience
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
  • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 60 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
