About this role
The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) at the University of Pittsburgh builds meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders to advance the University’s mission in education, research, and healthcare. We invite applications for the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) of Clinical Programs Advancement.
The AVC provides strategic leadership for fundraising across clinical departments and the University’s Grateful Patient programs. The role requires a proven fundraiser with experience closing seven‑figure gifts from grateful patients and demonstrated success engaging physicians. The AVC leads a high‑performing team of frontline fundraisers and staff, developing a comprehensive strategy that integrates philanthropy into the clinical care continuum. This includes close partnership with UPMC department chairs, division chiefs, center and institute directors, faculty, physicians, and senior leadership at both Pitt and UPMC. The AVC will also help shape strategy for the Clinical Programs Advancement team in collaboration with the VC for Health Sciences & Clinical Programs Advancement and the Acting Chief Advancement Officer for Pitt’s upcoming comprehensive campaign.
