ASSOCIATE FINANCIAL ANALYST
HYBRID | ONSITE AT JOSTENS' MINNEAPOLIS HEADQUARTERS 3 DAYS/WEEK
ABOUT YOU:
You are a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys being involved in the closing process and transforming numbers into meaningful, actionable insights. You bring energy to cross‑functional partnerships, collaborating with teams across the business to ensure key metrics are accurate, aligned, and driving results. Naturally curious and analytical, you’re confident using reporting and data visualization tools to support smart decisions and continuous improvement for our Scholastic and College teams.
YOU WILL:
- Month-End and Year-End Financial Accounting Close. Monthly accounting closes as it relates to journal entries for the Scholastic/College product lines, as assigned. Month-end analysis of financial performance for the Scholastic and College markets. Establish appropriate reports for backup to the month-end entries. Balance Sheet monthly reconciliations.
- Weekly Metrics. Run weekly reports needed for all assigned markets' metrics within Scholastic and College. Prepare certain weekly metrics pages for sales metrics. Research weekly metrics discrepancies.
- Scholastic/College Product Line Analysis. Works with product groups to make sure all sales and margins are accurately accounted for. Works with Sales and Marketing to make sure that pricing is set up and runs margin analysis. Prepare plan and forecast files for each of the Scholastic/College markets.
- Other Duties. Weekly sales journal entries as assigned. Prepare commission adjustments for sales reps. Assists with pricing requests. Ad hoc reporting to support the Scholastic/College finance groups. Help support sales, marketing, and operations questions. Develop EDW, BI, and access queries to support projects, month-end, weekly metrics, and the like. Help with project implementations, such as testing and verification. Participate in other finance projects as necessary.
YOU HAVE:
- Experience. 0-2 years of related experience.
- Education: 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Technical Skills. Excellent technical skills in Accounting, with strong systems aptitude and PC skills, specifically spreadsheets (Excel), database (Access), general ledger experience, and financial reporting software.
- Attention to Detail. Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Great Communication Skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.
- Typical/Expected % of Overnight Travel. Less than 5%.

ALL ABOUT FINANCE:
Our Finance team combines traditional financial planning, analysis, and accounting with collaborative business decision-making and strategy, directly supporting leadership in Marketing, Sales, Digital & Operations. Team members are expected to analyze data and provide recommendations across our specialized product lines, including Yearbooks, Class Rings, Graduation Products, and Professional Sports. Through the utilization of best-in-class technical software, such as Workday Adaptive Planning, Incorta, SAP BPC, Oracle, Salesforce, & the Microsoft Suite, you will get to play a critical role in determining financial solutions that steer our business. Our Finance team is comprised of several subgroups, including decision support, FP&A, operations, and corporate, but our success is directly related to a culture of cross-team collaboration.
