Associate Market Manager 

Introduction to the Team 

Expedia Group B2B connects partners across the travel industry to our leading technology, supply, and services - helping them deliver seamless travel experiences to their customers. From airlines and hotels to financial institutions and other travel platforms, we power smarter, faster, and more impactful travel solutions through the most connected marketplace in the world. 

Make an impact! 

As an Associate Market Manager, you will coach and support partners to be more successful on Expedia Group’s platform, increasing value through comprehensive commercial conversations and day-to-day interactions. You will begin building relationships with partners, develop your commercial and account management skills, and help partners identify opportunities to improve performance. This role will support the New Jersey seasonal markets and follows a mostly in-office hybrid schedule of three days per week in our Boston office, with one week in market per quarter. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by relationship-building, curious about partner success, and motivated to grow their commercial capabilities in a dynamic environment. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Begin developing relationships with partners or their account teams, including key buyers and decision-makers 

  • Assist in creating opportunities such as progress meetings and exploratory conversations to help grow partner accounts 

  • Develop an understanding of partner business issues through the appropriate internal channels 

  • Recommend products, services, and insights that meet partner needs 

  • Complete basic account plans that outline tactics to acquire and maintain business 

  • Build a basic understanding of how the department operates and how it fits into the larger organization 

  • Develop awareness of the policies, practices, trends, and competitor information that impact the organization and its partners 

  • Develop a basic understanding of the financial impact of decisions and solutions on the organization and its partners 

  • Guide accounts to valuable insights and present findings that can benefit both the account and the organization 

  • Gather data and information on potential ideas and solutions to address business needs 

  • Document components of a business case for change at the direction of more senior colleagues, when needed 

  • Develop a working knowledge of the company’s standard contract terms and conditions by reading product literature, contracts, and learning from peers 

  • Learn when to partner with legal resources to modify or adjust standard contract terms 

  • Learn the contract negotiation process and how to complete contractual arrangements 

  • Exchange simple information in straightforward situations to gain the support of others 

  • Proactively seek help from a manager when needed to address differences and ensure alignment among all parties 

  • Assist in conducting straightforward cost, benefit, and risk analyses of possible solutions and the implications of not reaching agreement 

  • Identify the key stakeholders involved in account decision-making 

  • Develop understanding of standard offerings and major areas of expertise 

  • Build a working knowledge of products, technologies, and offerings within scope of responsibility 

  • Develop a broad understanding of competitors’ standard products and services 

  • Understand the value and application of products, technologies, and offerings for accounts and the organization 

  • Build rapport and maintain ongoing business relationships with colleagues and external partners 

  • Learn about partner leaders and decision-makers through internal partner relationship management systems 

  • Develop a basic understanding of the partner’s industry and competitive market, using company tools to access market-specific insights 

  • Attend partner meetings to better understand needs and expectations 

  • Learn the metrics used to assess the performance of products, services, and solutions against partner needs 

  • Develop key value proposition statements, case studies, and proof points to demonstrate the value of the company’s products, services, and solutions 

Experience and qualifications: 

  • You have 0–2 years of relevant experience 

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

  • You are a proficient communicator who can build rapport and share information clearly, tailored to different communication styles 

  • You are developing your knowledge of sales techniques and commercial conversations 

  • Some account management experience is preferred 

  • You are comfortable learning from data, partner interactions, and business context to identify opportunities 

  • You are interested in building your understanding of contracts, negotiation, and partner success

The total cash range (inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target) for this position in Boston is $77,500.00 to $108,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $124,000.00, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Incentive plan performance above target will also earn more than the incentive target compensation amount.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
