About the role

As an Associate Product Manager at Lex Machina, you will focus on understanding how our product is used, analyzing usage patterns, surfacing insights, and helping the Product team make better decisions. This role is a member of the Product Engineering Team and works closely with Product, Customer Support, and Engineering.

You will develop a deep understanding of our users, not just through direct interaction, but by working closely with product usage data, customer feedback, and support trends. This is an entry-level role with growth potential for someone interested in product management, analytics, and legal technology. This role is focused on product insights and data analysis rather than traditional product management tasks such as writing user stories or managing delivery workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product usage data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of opportunity

  • Maintain and improve recurring reports on product usage, customer behavior, and key performance metrics

  • Work with existing SQL queries and dashboards; modify and build new queries over time

  • Partner with Product and Customer Support teams to synthesize insights from NPS scores, support tickets, and user feedback

  • Develop a holistic view of how customers use Lex Machina, and help communicate that perspective to internal teams

  • Identify gaps in data tracking and recommend improvements to instrumentation and reporting

  • Support Product Managers by owning and systematizing ongoing reporting and analysis workflows

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to ensure accuracy and accessibility of product data

  • Contribute to product discussions by grounding decisions in data and observed user behavior, rather than focusing on feature scoping or delivery management

  • Learn the Lex Machina product in depth and understand how different users derive value from it

Requirements:

  • BA/BS required

  • 0–2 years of experience in a professional, analytical, or product-related role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with limited oversight

  • Experience working with data in tools such as Excel or Google Sheets

  • Basic familiarity with SQL, or willingness to learn quickly on the job

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and insights

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver consistent, reliable output

  • Interest in SaaS products, analytics, and data-driven decision making

  • Experience with SQL and/or Python for data analysis

  • Familiarity with product analytics, reporting, or dashboarding tools

  • Experience working in a SaaS or technology environment

  • Exposure to customer support data, NPS, or user feedback analysis

  • Familiarity with legal technology or the legal industry

  • Experience working with large or complex datasets
