The Associate Retail Marketing Manager should be a strong representative of the Customer Development Team and retailer strategies to help drive organizational strategy & execution. Being able to identify and execute against opportunities where our brands intersect with our retail partners is critical. Our results-oriented team focuses on the oral care, personal care, and home care categories and is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this constantly evolving landscape. This role is based out of the New York office (Park Ave) and is expected to work in office 4x week (Monday - Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing & executing the national strategy across all retailers. You will work against key objectives to improve sales results, market share and financial return.
- Partner with the sales team and be forward thinking about innovative opportunities for retailers.
- Connect across the commercial organization from sales to marketing to supply chain to ensure efficient and effective execution of brand and retail strategies.
- Regularly interface with the North American Executive Team.
- Apply business insights to explore new opportunities and address day-to-day business situations.
- Evaluate historical performance of 5P activities and consider forward thinking trends to communicate meaningful recommendations and allocate commercial investment to continue building share growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of experience in sales roles or adjacent experiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a syndicated service (Nielsen, IRI) account preferred
- Experience working in consumer product goods preferred
- Google Suite or Microsoft Office proficiency (i.e, Sheets, Slides, Docs)
- You are entrepreneurial - You find creative opportunities to grow and improve the business across the board. Your ability to adapt and adjust the strategy, willingness to do things differently, and incorporate findings into the strategy quickly is the main way you can succeed.
- You connect the dots - You have a pulse on the big picture to identify areas of opportunity for products and programs, develop Customer Marketing strategies that incorporate consumer insights, and have an awareness of competitor activity to build promotional strategies.
- You are a collaborator - In this role, you’ll establish partnerships with multiple parties including the Marketing team, Supply Chain, and Customer teams across the country. Your peers who support specific Customers will rely on you for the latest trends and successes to share. These relationships flourish with mutual trust and integrity to achieve deliverables and execute against the strategy and goals.
- You are curious - This role is about forward thinking. You are someone who wants to discover and promote new ideas that help the business grow in creative ways. It’s important to understand business trends in each category and/or account through fact-based analysis to include brand share, pricing, promotion levels, and trade class development along with understanding the efficiency of different investment levers.
- You are adaptable - The business environment is constantly evolving. You’re comfortable with leading ambiguity and making time critical decisions, while maintaining the goal of looking for opportunities to deliver sales and share growth.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $96,800.00 - $137,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
