About this role
Design and architect web applications. Responsible for maintenance and bug-
fixing of web applications. Implement new end-user-facing web application
features, including all layers of those features from database design and
development, server-side processing, and applying front-end technologies to
handle interactivity and styling. Design and implement data structures ensuring
data integrity and work on data migrations. Implement integrations with third-
party services and application components. Apply best-practice security
principles to avoid web application security issues. Participate in team planning
and Agile software development meetings. Perform and participate in team code
reviews and interact with code management repositories. Manage user stories and
tasks in the project management platform to indicate work progress. Work with
QA resources to debug and correct software issues. Provide information to
support personnel to diagnose end-user support issues with the web applications.
Participate in team retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement. (Remote
position - Job may be performed anywhere in the U.S.)
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus one (1) year of experience as an Associate Software
Engineer or related occupation working in an agile software development
environment. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following
(quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Server-Side
Web Application Development: Develop and maintain server-side components
using Java or Adobe ColdFusion, creating scalable and maintainable web
services and dynamic content delivery systems while applying best practices in
coding, security, and performance to ensure high-availability applications;
Responsive Front-End Development: Build event-driven features and application
UIs using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS, leveraging frameworks including
React.js/Angular, Bootstrap, and jQuery; RESTful API Development and AWS
Cloud Solutions: Build high-performance RESTful APIs and leverage AWS core
services (EC2, S3, or RDS) for secure, cost-effective cloud solutions; Relational
Database Design, Management, and Optimization: Design, manage, and optimize
relational databases in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL), writing
efficient SQL queries, performing schema design and normalization, and tuning
performance to support complex, data-driven applications; and Software Quality
Assurance, Testing, and Performance Optimization: Apply application profiling,
debugging, performance optimization, and unit/integration testing to ensure high-
quality, reliable and high-performing software.
