Team Everett, with an office located in Mill Creek, WA, offers a unique opportunity for team members to participate in a variety of state and local government audits, including accountability, financial statement, and federal grant compliance. The team is responsible for conducting the audits of more than 90 governments located primarily in Snohomish County (with limited engagements in King and Island counties) and for ensuring governments safeguard public funds and follow state and federal laws and their own policies. We perform audits of cities, counties, fire districts, school districts, higher education agencies, and more. Successful Assistant State Auditors come from many backgrounds. The primary competencies required for this role is:
- Written and verbal communication

- Understanding of Accounting concepts/principles as they relate to Auditing.

Position Duties
We offer seasonal and year-round paid internships with our audit teams across the state. The start and length of internships is flexible. Travel to audit sites will be necessary.
This recruitment will be used to establish a pool of Audit Intern candidates. Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates will remain in the pool for three months and referred to our hiring managers as openings occur.
Interns work with our audit staff and perform audit tests, analyze data, communicate with entity staff, and provide support for more complex audit procedures. Interns may be involved in several small assignments or one large assignment over the course of the internship.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Completed their sophomore year
- Completed some accounting course work
- One year experience in accounting - paid or unpaid
- One year of professional experience
- Combination of accounting experience and school
- Have strong computer skills
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
