State Technical College of Missouri is accepting applications for part-time Auto Detailer position for the Facilities department. This position is responsible is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and simple maintenance of the College vehicles.
Required Qualifications:
- This position requires a high school diploma.
- This position requires work experience in the following areas:
- Skills in auto detailing work and six months or one-year experience in auto detail work or comparable experience may be accepted. Post-secondary course work is considered a valuable asset.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to use common sense techniques.
- Ability to identify problems and determine the best course of action for their resolution.
- Ability to critically evaluate information for accuracy and usefulness in solving problems.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers.
- Basic written skills to accurately complete reports and other paper work
- Valid Driver’s License
Job Responsibilities:
- Cleans and refurbishes automobiles
- Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down door jambs
- Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris
- Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices
- Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations
- Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection
- Applies dressing on tires and tire wells
- Keeps work area neat and clean
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management
- The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, talk or hear, and taste or smell
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts
- The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Assist with snow removal as needed
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned
