Automation Data Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX Metroplex

Work schedule: Hybrid work (2 days for now and can change) in office.

Overview:

Ensign Services, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Automation Data Engineer to join our growing team. This entry to mid-level role is ideal for early-career professionals with a passion for data, automation, and continuous learning. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and stakeholders to support the design and implementation of data solutions that drive process automation and business efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Assist in designing and supporting data solutions for automation projects.
Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to understand data requirements.
Help interpret data models and extract insights from various source systems.
Participate in testing, deployment, and maintenance of data pipelines and automation tools.
Document processes and contribute to project deliverables.
Learn and apply best practices in data engineering and automation.
Stay informed on emerging technologies and tools relevant to data and automation.
Support internal controls and ensure data integrity across systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, with or Master’s degree.
2+ years of experience in data engineering, automation, or software development.
Familiarity with Python programming, java-scripts and SQL.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and data tools such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, Redshift, etc.
Understanding of ETL concepts and basic data pipeline design.
Willingness to learn visualization tools like Quicksight, and Power-BI.
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to grow in a collaborative environment.

Nice-to-Haves:

Basic knowledge of Spark SQL, Iceberg, or Glue.
Exposure to automation frameworks or workflow tools.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Interest in business operations.

Additional Information:

Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000, DOE.
Location: local to Dallas Metroplex,
Work schedule: Hybrid work (2 days for now and can change) in office.
Pre-employment criminal background screening required.
