Backend Software Developer

As a Backend Software Developer, you will take part in all stages of the web development life cycle. You will be working in a team within a dynamic, fast-paced, fun, challenging and creative environment in order to achieve team-oriented goals. 

What you'll be doing: 

• Join a backend team building and maintaining large scale projects in a service-based architecture
• Work with RESTful APIs, relational databases, and modern caching/search infrastructure, docker, CI/CD
• Collaborate closely with other developers to ship reliable, well-structured backend features

What you'll need to be successful:

Must haves:  

• 1–2 years of experience in backend development with any server-side language (PHP, Python, Node.js, Ruby, Go, Java, etc.)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and consumption
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with web application architecture and HTTP fundamentals
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and experience with code reviews

Nice to haves:

• Experience with PHP (our primary backend stack)
• Exposure to Elasticsearch or other search/indexing tools
• Familiarity with Redis or similar caching/message-brokering solutions
• Understanding of service-oriented or microservice architecture
• Awareness of web application security best practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10, input validation, authentication patterns)
• Experience with AI assisted coding
