Position Summary:

The Beverage Porter is responsible for supporting beverage service by stocking bar supplies, maintaining cleanliness in beverage areas, and assisting with the setup of bars and events. Key responsibilities include inventory management of liquors, glassware and condiments, routine cleaning of bars and storage areas, and delivering supplies and equipment as needed for efficient operation. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will report directly to the Beverage Supervisor.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
  • Stock assigned beverage outlets with glassware, liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice and other necessary supplies.
  • Keep beverage areas including bars, counters, refrigerators, storage rooms and floors clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down portable bars and other equipment for special events or different shifts.
  • Dispose of all trash from bars and beverage areas, clean trash receptacles, and ensure proper waste management.
  • Transport supplies, equipment, and products to and from storage areas and beverage outlets, using correct delivery routes.
  • Assist bartenders by providing support -- preparing their stations and performing other tasks as required.
  • Ensure safety procedures and policies are always followed.
  • Provide a professional and helpful attitude when interacting with Guests and other Team Members.
  • Attend daily huddles with the beverage team to go over special events, assignments, pertinent info, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including responsible beverage service, gaming regulations and company policies.
  • Treat everyone with care, dignity, fairness, and respect.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to organize stock, manage inventory levels, and maintain cleanliness and order in various beverage areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with Team Members, Guests, and vendors.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors.
  • Ability to handle paperwork like bar transfers and stock deliveries.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, including Responsible Beverage Service (RBS), gaming regulations, and company policies.
  • Passion for Guest service and creating a positive Guest experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in a food and beverage environment (i.e. busser, server, culinary, counter attendant, warehouse, etc.) preferred.
  • Beverage experience in a casino environment preferred.
  • Current Food Handler certification and RBS certificate required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, graveyard and holidays.

Work Conditions:

Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.
