About this role
Broker Executive 1-50 New Business (AHNJ)
This position is an outside sales position. The Broker Executive will represent the company in selling Small Group products in New Jersey. The Broker Executive will be responsible for maximizing current distribution channels and creating new ones to maximize sales of the S.E.H. product. Namely, providing outside, in person focus to the General Agent (wholesale) distribution channel, Direct Agent (retail) distribution channel, and at times direct to consumer distribution channel. The Broker Executive will be expected to be focusing externally on developing and maximizing these channels no less than four full days a week, with no more than one full day in the office per week.
The successful Broker Executive will:
- Demonstrate the ability to work well with minimal daily intervention by management, dealing in minimal daily check-ins while on the road.
- Be self-motivated, competent in consultative selling skills, have experience in dealing with outside members, brokers, and GA’s, and have a good work ethic.
- Be responsible to maintain active sales license and certification required for position.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five years of work experience in health insurance/sales or marketing where building relationships/repeat customers is essential. Self-insured experience highly recommended.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to function in a high-volume, highly visible, deadline-oriented environment is essential.
- Knowledge of insurance products, services, and administration required, as is a broad understanding of health insurance funding and rating methodologies within the self-insured market.
- Demonstrated experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as CRM packages, such as ROAM required.
Active NJ State Accident & Health license required. Sales license must be obtained within 60 days of hire into position.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car for extensive visits to account/broker locations.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills as well as strong verbal and presentation skills.
- Excellent customer and broker relationships.
- Able to work collaboratively with functional areas within segment
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented.
Salary Range:
$49,350 - $82,250
