About this role
About the Department
Prepares and analyzes financial reports to support budget management, executive decision-making, and operational planning.
Assists with developing, administering, and monitoring the agency budget by analyzing financial data and funding needs.
Monitors budget activity to ensure compliance with fiscal policies and identifies financial trends and variances.
Administers the agency capital projects system and maintains accurate project accounting and reporting.
Processes budget transactions and fiscal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Provides guidance and technical assistance on budget processes, financial reporting, and SCEIS to agency staff.
Conducts financial analysis and research to support funding recommendations, strategic planning, and executive decision-making.

Position Duties
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and professional experience in a related area, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business,
OR
A related field and one (1) year of professional experience in a related area,
OR
An associate's degree in accounting, finance, business,
OR
A related field and three (3) years of professional experience in a related area,
OR
A high school diploma with five (5) years of professional experience in a related area.
Minimum Qualifications
SCDC budget experience preferred.
