Essential Function 1: Operate the Bus Safely Along Designated Routes
- Conduct pre and post inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to established schedules while following the designated route.
- Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the bus.
Essential Function 2: Maintain Vehicle Cleanliness and Conduct Routine Inspections
- Perform a walk-through after each route to ensure the bus is clean and free of debris.
- Report any mechanical issues or damages immediately to the Physical Plant team.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, including brake tests and emergency equipment checks
Essential Function 3: Perform Motor pool Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct daily inspections of fluid levels, brakes, tires, and lights to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as car wash, vacuuming and replenishing fluids.
- Coordinate with the motor pool Physical Plant team for scheduling regular tune-ups and more significant repairs.
- Keep a detailed log of maintenance activities and repairs.
Essential Function 4: Facilitate Water Delivery for Designated Routes
- Load water tanks securely onto the bus at the beginning of each route.
- Deliver water to predetermined locations, ensuring safe and proper unloading.
- Confirm the accuracy of water deliveries by cross-referencing against the delivery schedule and invoices
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- Clean Driving Record
Desired Qualifications and Experience

- 3-year experience in driving a School Bus
- Basic Mechanical Knowledge

General Description
The Bus Driver is tasked with operating a bus along predetermined routes, ensuring the timely pickup and drop-off of passengers at designated stops. In addition to maintaining the safety and cleanliness of both the bus and other motor pool vehicles, this role also includes the responsibility of distributing water to the CMI community and the general public.
