About this role

The Business Analyst Intern supports the Strategic Enablement Office (SEO) in delivering service excellence across Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) and Client Engagement. The successful candidate will offer support across portfolio management, governance and service documentation, client-facing alignment efforts, and process improvement and reporting—including identifying and applying AI and automation opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data quality, and enhance service delivery. 

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement Support 

  • Support liaison work with business technology leaders to align HTS services with Hearst business goals and priorities. 
  • Assist with preparation for client meetings (agendas, briefing materials, notes, action items, follow-ups). 
  • Track client requests, themes, and decisions; maintain simple intake and status views for transparency.
  • Help develop internal and customer-facing materials (meeting decks, reports, and executive summaries).

Portfolio Reporting & Program Delivery 

  • Streamline activities for portfolio reporting and project management with potential automations.
  • Prepare dashboards and summaries that highlight trends, delivery health, risks, and cross-portfolio themes. 
  • Support data governance activities (definitions, data quality checks, reporting standards). 
  • Assist project managers with meeting preparation and facilitation (agendas, notes, action items, RAID logs). 
  • Support routine project communications and status reporting. 
  • Help organize governance routines (decision logs, stakeholder updates, escalation inputs). 

The internship will run from June 1, 2026-August 14, 2026, up to 35 hours per week. 

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City.  The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $20 per hour. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City.  If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location.  A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.  Hearst provides a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays and paid time off, employee assistance programs, and more.
