About this role
The Senior Business Analyst – HL7 Interfaces serves as a domain expert for healthcare interoperability and system integrations. This role is responsible for leading requirements discovery, workflow analysis, and stakeholder collaboration for HL7- and FHIR-based interfaces across EMR and enterprise systems. The position requires a strong understanding of patient workflows, interface engines, Epic Bridges, and Agile delivery practices, along with the ability to effectively engage vendors and technical teams.
💥Only considering candidates with Epic Bridges Certification and 5 years experience required in healthcare IT or integration-focused business analysis, along with HL7 experience.
📍This is a Remote Position. Candidates can be located in any state EXCEPT NY, NJ, IL, and CA.
What We're Looking For:- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 5 years required in healthcare IT, system integration, or API-focused business analysis.
- Additional Skills (required):
- Working knowledge of API concepts, including REST, API contracts, and documentation standards.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements for system integrations or APIs.
- Additional Skills (preferred):
- Experience supporting API initiatives in a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI documentation tools.
- Experience working with integration platforms or enterprise integration teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions for HL7 and FHIR interface initiatives.
- Analyze and document end-to-end patient workflows and system interactions.
- Develop and maintain interface specifications, mapping documents, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive vendor discussions by asking informed technical and workflow-based questions.
- Identify when architectural input is required and proactively engage integration architects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage backlog items using Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
