Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position.  All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This temporary position is located in 1915 Health Services Way - Wake County with the Department of Health and Human Services.

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  
 
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.  

Management Preferences:  

  • The primary purpose of this position is to analyze data, including administrative claims, encounters, enrollment, operational reports and surveys, to support program staff in gaining insights from large datasets. These analyses will support program monitoring, evaluation, and policy decision-making for DMHDDSUS.
  • Responsibilities include data automation, quality check and data cleaning, analysis, data dissemination, data warehouse queries, and ad hoc data requests.

  • Working to considerable knowledge and understanding of business systems, theories, processes, rules and regulations and how they apply to technology in the applicable area(s).     
  • Working to considerable knowledge of applicable business information systems, testing methodologies, training, business system analysis, and/or other applicable systems.
  • Ability to independently develop, modify, and validate SAS programs to support analysis and reporting needs.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institution in a discipline related to the area of assignment with two years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
