Position Description
The Business/Systems Analyst will design, develop and administer project initiatives to improve efficiencies within the Laboratory’s Procurement, Data Management, Reporting, and Business Processes functions.
The successful candidate will provide strategic business analysis and assist in the design of solutions to support business requirements for the Contracting Services Department and the Laboratory. Assigned business processes include the areas of Procurement, Data Management, B2B, Report Design, Spend Analytics, and Business Process efficiency. This position will partner heavily with IT, Finance, and other functional areas on system development and to identify stakeholder requirements. Will lead projects as assigned. Good business acumen and demonstrated experience in an Analytics or Systems Management environment is required.
Duties include
- Design, build and implement standardized business processes, interfacing with Laboratory IT Staff and various Laboratory stakeholders as required
- Develop and enhance business intelligence required to drive Procurement and Materials Management functions and support the overall acquisition strategy for the Contracting Services Department
- Communicate new policies and procedures impacting the department and Laboratory
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of e-Procurement systems
- Analyzing and improving the Laboratory’s current business management/analytics practices, policies and procedures
- Documenting business needs, analyzing current system capabilities and identifying gaps between business needs and existing functionality; design and document solutions as needed
- Design and execution of standard queries and ad-hoc reports necessary in support of assigned analyses and projects
- Opportunities for database/dashboard development and coding automation
- Automating processes with AI, macros, power queries, and other tools
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field
- 0-3 years of experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials & Inventory Control, or Business Analytics & Design (or a combination thereof)
- Strong analytical/computer skills – a demonstrated skill set with Excel, MS Office, AI LLMs, data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Exposure to basic programming/scripting (Excel macros, simple web design, JavaScript for forms, etc)
- Good problem solving, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills with attention to detail – ability to monitor and manage ServiceNow requests is necessary in this role
- Familiarity with SAP, S/4HANA, SRM or comparable ERP systems
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment along with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously is a key factor to success within this position
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus for this role
- ISM/APICS/PMI similar certification is highly desirable for this opportunity
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance is required
Hiring Range: $63,400 - $82,400
