Position Summary:

The Cage Services Cashier is responsible for processing financial transactions within the casino, including exchanging chips for cash and cashing checks. This position also services and supplies coin and cash to casino ticket redemption units, jackpot kiosks and cash dispense units in accordance with established procedures. The Cage Services Cashier must maintain accurate records of transactions and cash drawer balances and perform functions of the casino rewards program, while providing excellent guest service. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will report directly to the Cage Services Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
  • Safeguard Company assets.
  • Ensure that all assigned job-related tasks are completed as required and that all items are balanced at the close of business.
  • Attend to guest needs and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the final balancing of funds and assets assigned during a shift.
  • Work front line, fill bank, main bank, and kiosk room as assigned.
  • Assist in training new Team Members.
  • Transfer bag coin from jet‐sort to main bank.
  • Enroll qualified players in the rewards program.
  • Issue North Fork rewards cards and input data in system.
  • Issue comps to qualified players.
  • Effectively and accurately operate assigned equipment, including but not limited to the player tracking system, standard computer terminal, embossers and scanners.
  • Services all ticket redemption units by supplying coin and cash to each unit.
  • Replenishes unit cassettes with cash.
  • Attends to any guest disputes resulting from the ticket redemption units or jackpot kiosks.
  • Fix all ticket redemption unit and jackpot kiosk malfunctions.
  • Circulates on the casino floor to fix any problems that occur with the redemption units.
  • Keeps redemption units clean and in proper working order.
  • Balances the kiosk vault and is responsible for balancing all coin and cash.
  • Able to cross-train and perform the responsibilities of a Main Bank Cashier if necessary.
  • Using available resources, detects counterfeit money.
  • Properly use equipment, tools or systems to complete assigned tasks and comply with company safety standards.
  • Develop a working knowledge of any applicable rules, regulations and Internals Controls.
  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with Cage policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and comply with both departmental and overall property policies and procedures.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to gain a basic understanding of gaming and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Title 31.
  • Ability to learn to use equipment such as coin sorters, currency counters, and calculators.
  • Basic math, reading and communication skills.
  • Flexible working hours and schedule.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electronic equipment.
  • Ability to learn new technology.
  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year cash handling experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year Cage Cashier experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months’ guest service experience preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of gaming devices or related systems is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass entrance exam.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions. Pushing and pulling needed with carts.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.

Work Conditions:

Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.  Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically performed in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Work is in a high volume, fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
