Position Summary:
The Cage Services Shift Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing the Cage department, which includes the functions of the player’s club, while ensuring that the cage staff adhere to all departmental SOPs, guest service standards and compliance regulations. This position is also responsible for the daily cash handling needs of the Casino Departments. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Safeguard Company assets.
- Make recommendations to the Cage Services Manager regarding potential policies and procedures to ensure that cash handling is performed within accepted standards established by management, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring that all tasks are completed as required and that all items are balanced at the close of business.
- Provide exceptional service to all external and internal Guests
- Responsible for the final balancing of funds and assets assigned during shift.
- Assist the Cage Supervisors and Cashiers in the check cashing needs of the Guests.
- Responsible for ensuring proper staffing and scheduling of Cage Team Members.
- Ensure that all procedures set forth by the State Compact are followed.
- Supervise Cage Supervisors and Cashiers in the performance of their duties.
- Makes recommendations to the Cage Services Manager on potential new hires.
- Responsible for the final balancing of funds and assets of the cage department.
- Oversee Title 31 functions as applicable to the Cage.
- Responsible for all day-to-day functions of the North Fork Mono Casino rewards program, including but not limited to enrolling guests, assisting existing members with promotions or redeeming offers and aiding in guest recovery.
- Ensure staff is aware of promotions and special events.
- Effectively and accurately operate assigned equipment, including but not limited to slot accounting system, player tracking, standard computer terminal and that cage staff are properly trained in using this equipment.
- Ensure Guest accounts are updated accurately.
- Issues comps to qualified players.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Basic understanding of accounting, gaming and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
- Proficiency in Title 31.
- Able to use equipment such as coin sorters, currency counters and calculators.
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively.
- Flexible working hours and schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; college-level coursework preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Cage Supervisor required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions. Pushing and pulling needed with carts.
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
Work Conditions:
Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically performed in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Work is in a high volume, fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
