Position Summary
Calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs instruments and/or systems returned for service or repair. This role is typically based in service support, metrology, or similar service‑center environments and requires the ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibrations using primary standards and measuring & test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions and procedures.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair electronic measurement instruments and systems returned by customers.
- Troubleshoot to the component level to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate calibration records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Communicate calibration data, trends, and product findings to appropriate teams to support quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Escalate unusual or complex technical issues to Engineering, Technical Support, or other appropriate departments.
- Maintain calibration standards, tools, and M&TE in proper working condition and compliance.
- Perform routine maintenance and service activities within a service‑center environment to ensure timely and accurate product turnaround.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Basic understanding of metrology principles, including ISO/IEC 17025 concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
Preferred:
- Experience troubleshooting electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Experience using automated test systems (minimum of 6 months preferred).
- Prior service center, calibration lab, or repair environment experience.
