Job Description:
The Capital Portfolio Project Manager plans, manages, and drives the end-to-end various projects for the asset management department. These initiatives are high-priority, cross-departmental projects that support the achievement of Murphy USA's strategic goals.
The Capital Portfolio Project Manager ensures his/her assigned initiatives are delivered on time/budget and meet or exceed business expectations by
1) Partnering with various internal and external teams to solve the business problem(s) and making recommendations to Leadership
2) Driving project discipline by defining structure, maintaining documentation, and ensuring all work aligns with Murphy USA’s capital program standards and governance requirements.
3) Proactively identifying risks, constraints, and operational impacts while driving timely mitigation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and lead various capital programs including but not limited to:
Retrofit existing sites with new MPDs
Manage end‑to‑end delivery of acquisition remodel projects, including site assessments, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, construction oversight, and closeout
Coordinate permitting, inspections, and compliance with local jurisdictions.
Anticipate risks and challenges related to assigned projects and keep Project Sponsors, Project Leads, and the Leadership informed of these risks and challenges.
Set up and maintain shared project/program folders and templates.
Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to standards.
Maintain project schedules, budgets, documentation, and reporting for all assigned remodels.
Serve as the primary liaison between Construction, Operations, Real Estate, Facilities, and external partners.
Identify risks, resolve issues, and escalate concerns to leadership with recommended actions.
Track financial performance, including budget variance, change orders, and ROI.
Support continuous improvement of remodel processes, standards, and vendor performance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as project management, construction, business administration, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing capital budgets.
Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
PMP Certification
PROSCI Change Management
