Position Summary:
The Casino Host's primary responsibility is to effectively market, evaluate, recruit, establish and maintain a professional relationship with North Fork Mono Casinos' players. The Casino Host will develop and maintain superior relationships with guests by equal utilization of professionalism and personality. They will track and monitor guest feedback and participation on an on-going basis to determine program effectiveness. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will report directly to the Player Development Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with high-value players, understanding their preferences and needs, and providing personalized attention.
- Use marketing tools such as outside acquisition campaigns and resort amenities.
- Closely monitored by the Player Development Manager on increasing the number of premium players to North Fork Mono Casino.
- Utilize casino database/software to identify target players.
- Circulate throughout the casino floor to interact with existing Rewards Program members and recognize prospective players for enrollment and relationship-building efforts.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining a courteous and solution-oriented approach.
- Approve and monitor comp issuance based on player performance.
- Meet goals and objectives for daily phone calls and letters mailed to current, inactive and prospective high-end players.
- Assists in the planning and hosting of Special Events (on and off property), dinners, tournaments, promotions and any event attributing to the success of the department and company.
- Remain informed of competitor offerings and industry trends to ensure the property remains competitive and relevant to the VIP segment.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Public relations skills and knowledge of general casino operations.
- Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
- Ability to take direction well.
- Must possess strong computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft and Casino Marketplace Database applications and software.
- Ability to accurately and successfully perform several tasks under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details such as spelling, numbers, and grammar.
- Ability to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in casino marketing, guest services, or related roles required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.
