About this role

We are seeking a highly motivated Catastrophe Analyst to support our team through catastrophe modeling, analytical insight, and communication. This role is ideal for an early‑career professional with a strong quantitative foundation and an interest in catastrophe risk, insurance, and data‑driven decision making. You will support our team by preparing exposure data, running catastrophe models, and helping translate analytical results into meaningful insights for clients and markets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst, you’ll support our business through the following areas:

  • Monthly Modeling:

    • Support the analysis of exposure and valuation data for use in catastrophe modeling
    • Assist in preparing, cleaning, and validating data for catastrophe model ingestion
    • Run catastrophe models using commercial platforms (RMS, AIR) under guidance from senior team members
    • Support problem‑solving efforts related to complex risk structures and modeling challenges
    • Help interpret model results and project future growth for MGA
  • Dashboard Development:

    • Prepare exhibits, summaries, and visualizations for collaborative discussions
    • Use geospatial tools like Spatial Key to help visualize programs geographically
    • Assist in building analytical content for new business opportunities
  • Stakeholder Communication:

    • Present to members of Product, Claims, and Underwriting teams, to ensure understanding of modeling and needs of the business
    • Drive continuous improvements in deliverable products
  • Additional Duties:

    • Support the organization in various capacities as needed, contributing to the overall growth and development of the team.
    • Participate in training and professional development to build technical and domain expertise

WHAT IT TAKES

  • BS in Risk Management, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of programming languages like SQL, R, Python
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI or similar data tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
