Cosentino's is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Catering Coordinator/Specialist to join our team. The Catering Coordinator/Specialist will be instrumental in managing all aspects of our catering services, from initial client consultation to seamless event delivery. This role requires a strong blend of customer service, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to ensure every event is a resounding success. This is an hourly, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Catering Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all logistical aspects of catering events, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service throughout the planning process.
- Develop and maintain detailed event proposals and contracts, demonstrating strong writing and organizational skills.
- Collaborate with culinary teams to finalize menus and ensure all food safety standards are met.
- Manage event timelines and schedules, utilizing effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring a polished and professional presentation.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, staff, and clients to ensure seamless coordination.
- Maintain accurate client records and event details with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Assist with sales efforts by identifying opportunities for upselling and client retention.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding event staff and ensuring a positive team environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of event planning and catering operations.
- Thorough knowledge of customer service principles and best practices in a hospitality setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- General knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication.
- Proven organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in coordinating multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Adept at problem-solving and adapting to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar catering or event coordination role.
- Familiarity with catering software or event management platforms.
- A strong understanding of sales principles within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a leadership capacity within a service-oriented team.

Physical Abilities
The following physical movements could potentially be part of any scheduled shift and employees will be expected to perform these actions while on duty.
Essential Abilities
- Reaching overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 72 inches, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling grocery items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
- Able to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers.
