About the Position
This position is a fully operational, licensed engineer and is a responsible-charge engineer that may involve oversight of lower-level engineering positions. The position designs projects and performs construction management for highway construction projects. The PE I is directly responsible for engineering details as well satisfactory completion of highway design and construction projects in accordance with plans, specifications, and special provisions. This position provides technical information to CDOT specialty branches and outside municipalities and ensures that departmental policy, procedures and design standards are addressed and incorporated into roadway construction plans. This position acts as the CDOT project engineer delegated by the Chief Engineer to act as a fully authorized representative in direct charge of the design of construction projects. This includes legal responsibility for sealing and stamping plans produced by the residency, which requires a registration as a licensed Professional Engineer with the State of Colorado.

Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
- Current, valid licensure as a Professional Engineer from the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers, and Professional Land Surveyors.
