About the Department
LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Central Service Worker 1 or 2
To provide services, as well as to supply, process, maintain, and distribute medical supplies and equipment throughout state health care facilities. Under the direct minimal supervision will report to the Director of Clinical Staff and Patient Services. Primary responsibilities include proper asepsis in Central Sterilization, Dispensary, Clinic and Student Laboratories.Position Duties
No experience or training is required.

Other Qualifications
Duties and responsibilities but not limited to:
- Prepares instrument trays, supplies, and seal packs according to established standards
- Check equipment in and out of the dispensary, cleans, decontaminates.
- Provide in-service to lower-level central service workers.
- Perform water line biological test and document results.
- Monitors and maintains student cubicles.
- Sterilizes instruments, treatment trays, and surgical packs, Package and delivery to all floors.
- Clean, lubricate and sterilize all students and clinical hand pieces.
- Pick up dirty instruments for sterilization from all floors.

Focusing on Customers: The ability to understand and meet the needs, preferences, and experiences of internal and external customers.
Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

Career Progression: This position is part of the career progression group may be filled as a Central Service Worker 1 or 2.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday; work hours will be determined by the department

Compensation: Salary offer depends upon qualifications
Additional compensation
- $1.00 Longevity Pay for hours worked only.
- This is a Civil Service Position.
- No Civil Service test score required to be considered for this vacancy
- Pre-employment Drug testing and Criminal Background check are required.
- This position will require selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months.
