Job Summary:
Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. Reports to: Director of Surgery Services. FLSA: Non-exempt
How you'll contribute:
- Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
- Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
- Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
- Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
- Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What we're looking for:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- License: Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
