Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Scrub Tech to join our surgical team in Sarasota (Soto), FL. The ideal candidate will assist surgeons and operating room staff by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and accounted for before and after procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and respond promptly during surgeries.
• Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required.
• Assist in the inventory management of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with surgical technology and best practices.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Scrub Tech.
• Proven experience working in an operating room environment.
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education is a plus.
• CPR certification preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires standing for extended periods, working in a sterile environment, and the ability to respond quickly to surgical team needs. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
