What We Offer:
Responsible for providing clean, properly packaged, sterile instruments and supplies to meet individual customer needs.
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Hours / Shift: Monday - Friday from 7AM until 3:30PM. No Holidays, No On-Call and Weekends [Full Time]
What We're Looking For:- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
- Review surgical schedules to anticipate patient and procedure needs.
- Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators, Inventory Control Specialists, and OR staff to ensure instrument availability.
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments according to manufacturer guidelines and department standards.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain sterilization and reprocessing equipment while ensuring accurate documentation and quality controls.
- Maintain instrument inventories and support efficient workflow through effective organization and resource management.
- Follow safety protocols and utilize PPE when handling contaminated instruments and hazardous materials.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, intra-op staff, leadership, and UCIC to resolve issues and support patient care.
