Position Duties

As a Child Support Enforcement Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the Child Support Enforcement Program on an ongoing basis. In this role, you build strong working relationships with domestic relations sections, county assistance offices, children and youth services offices, and partners across state lines to coordinate case activity, improve cooperation, and promote the self-sufficiency of families. This position is primarily assigned to serve families in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, and Fulton counties. As a Child Support Enforcement Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Analysis: Analyze program performance and recommend corrective actions to improve results
  • Inter-Agency Coordination: Maintain liaison relationships with domestic relations sections, county assistance offices, and other partners
  • Data Review: Review and analyze case data to ensure proper distribution of payments and resolution of issues
  • Technical Assistance: Provide guidance and training to staff on systems, procedures, and child support policies
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve complaints or questions from agencies, clients, and legal representatives
  • Report Preparation: Prepare reports, documentation, and written responses related to case activity and program compliance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Home Headquartered: This is a home headquartered position. You will be required to travel to Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, and Fulton counties and must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of these counties by the start of employment. During the probationary period, it is required to report 2 days per week to an office in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, or Fulton County. Location will be based on the selected candidate. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in a domestic relations office which included the interpretation, application and explanation of policies and regulations and analysis of information; or
  • A bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training including one year in a domestic relations office which included the interpretation, application and explanation of policies and regulations and analysis of information.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.


Other Requirements:
  • You must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the counties of primary assignment by the start of employment: Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, or Fulton.

  • This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
