About the Department
Position will serve as the Domestic Relations Office (DRO) department's financial and new accounts supervisor. Handles highly complex problems in both the financial and order entry area.
Position Duties
- Performs order entry duties pursuant to contract #10-C0017 to pass quality control measures for the Office of the Attorney General. Performs complicated order entry, deletion, and re-entry duties on the Tarrant County and Texas State Attorney General (TXCSES) systems. Assesses and researches child support cases on the Texas Child Support Enforcement System (TXCSES) to determine which cases will refer to the Monitoring Program.
- Supervises, assigns and monitors work of new accounts and financial units. Provides training and technical assistance to office staff.
- Reconciles daily and monthly Child Support trust account, DRO fee account, credit card account and the Tarrant County Child Support bank accounts. Supervises the disbursing of funds placed in the Child Support and DRO fee accounts. Approves banking transactions and oversees electronic processing of payments on the Tarrant County system.
- Provides financial specialist functions for adjustments to new accounts for Contract #10-0017.
- Conducts locate and skip-trace investigations.
- Documents actions taken in cases by entering information into a complex automated system.
- Responds to inquiries and resolves complaints regarding case status.
- Explains program policies, procedures, and regulations to parents via individual interviews.
- Negotiates agreed orders or other voluntary settlements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent Child Support experience.
Three (3) years experience in full-time child support program or closely related experience.
Must become a Certified Financial Specialist through the Office of the Attorney General within six (6) months of hire.
Must have advanced or expert knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the child support field and TXCSES, the state child support computer system.
Must have knowledge of and skills to use a computer for word processing and data entry and retrieval.
Must have extensive skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Knowledge of both County and state child support policies. Requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Maintains current knowledge of Texas family law, federal regulations, and other state IV-D regulations.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, hear, keyboard, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, tolerate noise, pull, push, reach, sit, and walk.
