We are seeking a hands-on Site/Civil Transit Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of transit and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in producing complete, bid-ready PS&E packages, works efficiently in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and is comfortable coordinating across disciplines, utilities, and agencies.
You’ll play a key role in advancing projects through design development, QA/QC, agency reviews, and procurement, contributing technically while helping ensure quality, constructability, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
PS&E / Construction Document Production
Produce complete PS&E and construction drawing packages, including:
Plan & profile sheets
Typical sections and site-specific details
Utility coordination and relocation drawings
Signing & striping, ADA ramp details, MOT/staging plans
Develop bid-ready construction packages and respond to contractor questions during procurement
Site Civil & Transit Design
Perform detailed site civil design, including:
Grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility layout
Pavement design, curb & gutter, and earthwork calculations
Develop erosion control plans, stormwater BMPs, and site-specific construction details
Support transit-related infrastructure such as stations, facilities, corridors, and supporting site elements
Civil 3D & Model-Based Design
Apply advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D capabilities, including:
Surfaces, alignments, corridors, pipe networks, and grading objects
Efficient corridor, surface, and data management
Complex grading scenarios and coordination with stormwater modeling
Utilize model-based plan production and manage sheet sets efficiently to support PS&E delivery
Cost Estimates, Specs & Agency Coordination
Develop engineer’s cost estimates (OPCC and PS&E level)
Prepare and coordinate technical specifications
Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, and agencies throughout design
Support QA/QC reviews and address comments during agency review cycles

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

*Strong experience developing engineer’s cost estimates (OPCC, PS&E level) and technical specifications
*Familiarity with state DOT and municipal design standards, with ability to quickly adapt to new agency criteria
*Experience supporting projects through design development, QA/QC, and agency review cycles
*Experience in site civil design, including:
Grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility layout
*Pavement design, curb and gutter, and earthwork calculations
*Advanced Civil 3D capabilities in:
Complex grading scenarios
