CDL Driver – Construction & Heavy Equipment Hauling

Position Summary

CL Construction is seeking a dependable CDL Driver to support our construction operations by transporting equipment, materials, and machinery between our yard and jobsites. This position is more than driving—you'll also play an important role in loading and unloading equipment, assisting with shop and yard operations, and helping keep projects running efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport heavy equipment, construction materials, and machinery to and from jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment and materials using the appropriate tools and equipment.
• Ensure loads are properly secured and all DOT requirements are met before transport.
• Complete vehicle inspections and maintain accurate fuel logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
• Maintain trucks and trailers in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining the yard, shop, and storage areas.
• Help load, unload, and stage materials and equipment as needed.
• Communicate with the Logistics Manager and field personnel to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
• Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and timekeeping procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Experience hauling heavy equipment and construction materials preferred.
• Experience operating equipment such as skid loaders, telehandlers, or forklifts is a plus.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and proper load securement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
• Willingness to assist with shop and yard responsibilities in addition to driving.
