What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification. PhD, preferred. Doctorate of Pharmacy.
  • Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required. Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.

 

What You'll Do:

Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care.

  • Support hospital performance on national quality indicators, with a strong focus on the admission medication process.

  • Provide educational in-services to clinical staff.

  • Develop policies and processes to enhance departmental operations and workflow efficiency.

  • Participate in at least one departmental or hospital committee.

  • Precept pharmacy students and/or residents, contributing to clinical education and training.

  • Direct patient care: 60%

  • Order verification & distribution: 20%

  • Education: 15%

  • Administrative duties: 5%
