Our core facility collects human biospecimens which are used by faculty on campus for their research. In this role you will work in a fast-paced environment and interact with patients and clinical staff at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospitals. In addition to the standard duties below, you will communicate with clinical, surgical and pathology staff regarding timely research specimen collection. %26nbsp;You will also be explaining the purpose of the cancer center biorepository to patients and consenting those who agree to participate. Communicate with clinical, surgical and pathology staff regarding timely research specimen collection.%3Cbr%3E2. Procure specimens from hospitals and clinics. Distribute specimens to researchers on campus for time%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3Ecritical collections.%3Cbr%3E3. Document specimen collections in case report forms%3Cbr%3E4. Assists with maintenance of study level documentation.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssists with data queries and possible edits for accuracy.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECompiles data for regulatory requirements and /or deadlines for local or sponsor submissions.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EMaintains existing databases and ensures data integrity.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPerforms QA/QC clinical analysis and data checks using various databases based on trial.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssists with preparing annual reports and/or modifications to institutional review board (IRB). This may include reportable events (UPIRSO).%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssist and prepare research records for formal sponsor audits or internal audits.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ERecruits and enrolls patients in research study that may include consenting patients after training and with supervision.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EWith adequate training and supervision, assists with participant screening and recruitment for more complex trials.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EConducts and documents consent for participants in studies. Assists with the development of consent plans and documents for participants.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EIdentifies incomplete, inaccurate, or missing data for more complex studies and works with lead coordinator to correct errors.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssists with ordering and maintaining research supplies following university/department procedures, ensuring that equipment is in good working order.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EWith adequate training and supervision, assists with collecting and processing specimens following established procedures/protocols.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssists in preparing studies for closeout, (e.g. packing files, documenting files for storage, shipping extra supplies back to sponsor).%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EWith adequate training/credentialing and supervision, performs study procedures such as phlebotomy, vital signs, and EKG%27s needed for research study.
