Cloud Computing Architect

Cloud Computing Architect with expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and AWS. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions. Skilled in aligning cloud strategy with business objectives, driving innovation through industry trend analysis, and ensuring infrastructure integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and maintain Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure services, ensuring system integrity, scalability, and performance
• Lead cloud platform installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance for enterprise environments
• Partner with DPS IT personnel, vendors, consultants, and internal customers to implement new solutions and enhance existing capabilities
• Drive cloud modernization initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and optimization efforts
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance across cloud environments
• Monitor and maintain cloud performance, availability, and reliability
• Research and evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, incorporating innovations into enterprise cloud strategy
• Provide strategic input to align cloud architecture with organizational vision and business priorities
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and architecture frameworks
• Support continuous improvement and innovation within cloud services delivery

Education:  High School or GED, required.  4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.

Experience:  Minimum of 8 years in an Information Technology setting with a minimum of five years directly supporting AWS/Azure/ Cloud Infrastructure, required.

Licensure/Certification:  Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS Certifications, preferred.

Additional Skills/Requirements (required):  

Duties include, but are not limited to, design, installation, deployment, performance evaluation and tuning, technology research/evaluation, capacity planning and mitigation for Novant Health’s cloud infrastructure services. Responsible for understanding the technical design and operation of the enterprise cloud infrastructure services along with coordinating third-party vendors for maintenance to existing environments and planning for additional capacity and upgrades. Responsible for the architecture and design of new additions to Novant Health’s cloud infrastructure services providing technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective systems solutions that meet business application requirements.
