Join Lockheed Martin’s cutting‑edge Cloud First initiative as a hands‑on Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer!
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will be a core member of a Cloud DevOps Delivery team within the Enterprise IT (EIT) FORCE portfolio, responsible for the design, development, deployment, and operation of cloud‑native products and services that support every Lockheed Martin business area. You will primarily work in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI); experience with AWS (or Azure) is a strong plus.
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
• Building and maintaining “landing‑zone” environments, automated service provisioning, and CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools
• Collaborating closely with product analysts, developers, and security teams to ensure solutions meet stakeholder expectations, security standards, and SLA/KPI targets.
• Driving continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and documentation across the cloud stack.
• Participating in agile methodology (backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives) and helping remove impediments that affect release goals.
• Providing technical mentorship, promoting a culture of ownership, and educating teammates on best practices for secure, automated cloud operations.
Further Information About This Opportunity:
This role is fully remote and requires working some off hours to accommodate production issue resolution and disaster‑recovery activities. US Citizenship is required due to system access.
Basic Qualifications
• Expertise in Google Cloud and/or Oracle Cloud services
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud‑native networking, compute, storage, and database services across Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and (preferably) AWS/Azure.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, JSON/YAML, Bicep, etc)
• Deep understanding of security principles, especially Identity & Access Management, and the ability to harden cloud systems via automation
• Experience troubleshooting production incidents, conducting root‑cause analysis, and coordinating bug‑fix deployments
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed, virtual team environment
• US Citizenship is required due to system access.
