Basic Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.

Clearance Requirements:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for a Configuration Management Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission.   • Assist in the development and implementation of configuration and data management policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Support the identification, control, and tracking of configuration items (CIs) and related documentation.
  • Help maintain accurate records of configuration changes, including version control and change history.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in configuration control board (CCB) meetings, documenting decisions and tracking action items.
  • Perform data entry and updates in configuration and data management databases and tools.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of configuration management plans, reports, and audits.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of configuration and data management activities.

Detailed Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of configuration and data management principles and practices is a plus.
  • Experience with configuration and data management tools and software (e.g., Git, EWM, Windchill, JIRA, Confluence) is desirable but not required.

This position is full-time onsite in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
