Primary Responsibilities

This position requires masonry skills required to build catch basins, manholes, setting of concrete and stone curbing installation of concrete for form work and sidewalk construction.  Mixing and movement of bagged cement, bricks, blocks, and formwork.

 

Principle Accountabilities

  1. Masonry requirements used in support of the Construction and Paving Division.

Qualifications

  1. Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
  2. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  3. Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  4. Ability to perform work in daytime and nighttime conditions.

 

Personal Protective Equipment

Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and Construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies.  Protective equipment that is required for this position; Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, band protection, safety vest/high visibility clothing for any work in field.  Hearing protection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee is required to sit, walk, stand, climb, crawl, bend, kneel, reach above shoulders, and lift up to 95 pounds for periods of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus, and operate various pieces of equipment.

 

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Frequently:         Bend, climb, stand, walk, sit, reach, repetitive motion, right, left, kneel, squat, fine motor

Occasionally:      Reach, drive

 

This position requires an employee to lift:

 

Frequently:        0 -10 Lbs, 10-25 Lbs, 25-50 Lbs, 50-100 Lbs
